While I don’t agree with it, it’s nothing new.  Parents “back in my day” would try to expose their children to chicken pox (of course this was before the vaccine). My mother tried to expose my brother and I - neither of us got it - that is until our own children did so my brother and I were both adults when we did get chicken pox. Thankfully by the time the rest of my children came along there was a vaccine :-)

I don’t agree with this either.  Also, chicken pox is less dangerous than measles (and has not been shown to cause blindness or brain damage but can lead to scarlet fever - I guess, pick your poison).  And the comment “I wish scientists could figure out a way to give all children a very mild strain of a disease”…HELLO!!! THAT’S WHAT A LIVE VIRUS VACCINE IS!!  The measles vaccine is an attenuated (weakened) live virus.  I just went through a typhoid vaccination cycle.  It was a attenuated bacterium vaccine.  It did not kill me, whereas typhoid fever has a 30% mortality rate if not treated with antibiotics (and even then some people may die from complications).  I will take a vaccine any day over actual infection and treatment!!
